The President was briefed on the measures implemented by the Ministry of Culture and Information in 2024, as well as the plans for 2025. The report covered areas including culture, information, civil society, religion, interethnic relations, youth policy, creative industries, family-demographic policy, archives, and library affairs.
The Minister highlighted that in 2024, Kazakh art was showcased for the first time at global art venues such as the Venice Biennale and the Museum of Asian Arts in Gime. Kazakhstan also participated in the largest international event, the Frankfurt Book Fair.
One notable project was the establishment of the Qazaq Culture informational and educational platform in eight languages, aimed at promoting the history, culture, and traditions of the country. Among the prominent events of the year were the opening and closing ceremonies of the V World Nomad Games in Astana.
The President was informed about the legislative initiatives adopted, including a new media law that elevated the status of journalists. Amendments are being considered in Parliament that would provide direct funding for the Kazakhfilm studio.
The development of the volunteer movement was noted: the number of active volunteers has increased to 240,000 compared to 2022. More than 50 volunteer projects are implemented annually, and 7 Kazakh volunteers participate in UN programs.
To support the creative industries, a package of measures has been developed, including the establishment of a Creative Industries Fund, expanding the powers of executive bodies, and introducing a special tax regime for entities in the creative sector. In 2024, 10 creative centers and hubs were opened in the country.
In conclusion, the President instructed that special attention be given to preparations for the anniversary and significant events of 2025, including the 30th anniversary of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan, the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, and the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions.
