Actor Bolat Abdilmanov has outraged women in Kazakhstan.

Renowned actor Bolat Abdilmanov (@bolat.abdilmanov) expressed his outrage over the prominent role of women in the film "Zheztyrnak," sparking mixed reactions among the women of Kazakhstan. He stated that historically, women in Kazakhstan have never held leadership roles within families and warned that this trend could threaten the foundations of statehood.
Актер Болат Абдильманов вызвал недовольство среди женщин Казахстана.

“The dominant woman in the family will lead to a future where women will govern the country. I recently watched the film 'Zheztyrnak' at the cinema. In it, women kill everyone, while men appear as mere weaklings. There is nothing masculine about them. They dance to the whims of women. Physically, women are portrayed as strong, defeating everyone. The strength of a woman lies in her kind heart, tenderness, wisdom, and calmness. Isn’t that so? It feels like men and women have swapped roles. Cinema should convey an educational message, instilling love for the country, homeland, and patriotism. I believe that films should nurture people who love and respect their native land and awaken the spirit. Here, women are in charge and lead everything. Throughout history, women have preserved and maintained the hearth. They manage the household, waiting for their husbands and feeding them. In turn, men perform their feats in the name of women. She gives him motivation. Therefore, I believe that if everyone is in their rightful place, our society and state will develop in the right direction,” the actor stated on his Instagram.

In contrast, his words have already been commented on by Fariza Eskermes, Aytim Amangeldy, and the actor's followers:

“Sir, do you mean that a woman should remain in the shadow of a man? You say that in our history, women stayed home waiting for their husbands, thus providing them with motivation. But it seems you don't know history well… Please stop telling us where our place is and lecturing us. If we’re talking about the film 'Zheztyrnak,' it’s just a MOVIE! Cinema is an art form, and it’s not always uniform. Let’s stop linking art to social issues! Why do you point fingers at Kazakh women? Why do you constantly strive to shape the female community? Why do you want so much for us to stay at home? I was not born solely to give a man motivation and create conditions for him! I’m not saying that’s bad. Many of our mothers managed the household and preserved the hearth for the sake of family and children. However, we shouldn’t compare that time with the present. Women of the 21st century have many desires and goals. Thank God, we have the strength to achieve our goals. Why do you want us to stay at home so desperately? The harder you try to confine us, the higher we will soar. Enough with the commanding tone toward Kazakh women and telling us what to do. We are individuals. We have our own minds and can make decisions,” Fariza Eskermes commented on the situation in her stories.

Additionally, under the actor's post, they recalled Manshuk Mametova and Aliya Moldagulova:

“The immortal feat of Manshuk, accomplished during the Great Patriotic War, continues to serve as proof of will, honor, and courage. Despite her young age of 20, she bravely faced the enemy while standing behind a massive machine gun. She took her last breath on October 15, 1943, in battle near Nevel,” commented followers.

“The female heroes, the great women of Kazakhstan – Aytolkyn, the daughter of Sultan Abylai, Yesenbika, the daughter of Karasai Batyr, and Aibike, the daughter of Bulanbay Batyr, participated in fierce battles against the Dzungars. The wife of Kabanbay Batyr, Gauhar, even led a reconnaissance unit. Together with her husband, she took part in all major battles of that time. Decades later, their daughter Nazym was also sent to the battlefield,” others wrote.

The actor also has many supporters who back his opinion. The video featuring his ambiguous remarks about the film and women has already garnered 68.5 thousand views, nearly 300 shares, and over 100 comments.
