The mGov application made it easy to access various electronic government services, such as address and pension certificates, property information, as well as paying fines, taxes, and state duties. By 2019, it offered around 70 different services and features for citizens.
In 2019, the product was rebranded, and the mobile application for electronic government was given a new design, resulting in the familiar eGov Mobile. In 2020, biometric identification was added, simplifying access to government services, which was particularly beneficial during the pandemic.
Over the past 5 years, the new eGov mobile application attracted 15 times more users, and now 90% of government services can be accessed through it. The application is used by 4 million people monthly, with over 190,000 daily users. eGov Mobile now offers 208 government services and 759 different services on the e-license portal for individuals, as well as 34 services for eGov Business.
Thanks to the application, there is no longer a need to carry physical documents. The "Digital Documents" service has enabled Kazakhs to utilize electronic versions of documents over 13 million times. Later, this service was made even more convenient by integrating it into popular banking applications.
eGov Mobile provides a convenient solution: users can now obtain an electronic digital signature (EDS) and sign documents using a QR code. This method has already been used approximately 9 million times, and the number continues to grow. The eGov Mobile application is available for download on the App Store, Play Market, and HUAWEI AppGallery, and it works on devices with iOS and Android. The number of application users includes over 3.6 million on iOS, more than 5.1 million on Android, and over 850,000 on HUAWEI.
In July 2024, a new part of the mobile electronic government was launched – the eGov Business application for entrepreneurs. Now small and medium-sized businesses can access government services directly from their smartphones. With eGov Business, it's easy to register a company manager, obtain an EDS, sign documents via QR code, and much more with just a couple of clicks.
Today, eGov Mobile is a convenient application for interacting with the government. It helps people easily obtain government services and demonstrates that an increasing number of users trust it. The NIT team plans many more innovations to make government services accessible and convenient for every resident of Kazakhstan.
