A special flight is also scheduled for the transportation of the injured, contingent upon their health status allowing for transport according to medical assessments. The competent authorities of Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan are taking all necessary measures.
It is reported that a plane from the Russian Center for Disaster Medicine arrived in Aktau the day before to assist the injured. Residents of the Mangystau region accompanied nine Russians who were injured to Moscow. The delegation was accompanied by representatives of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan, elders, and youth, as well as the Akim of Aktau, Abilqair Baipakov.
It is worth noting that the Azerbaijan Airlines flight from Baku to Grozny was diverted first to Makhachkala and then to Aktau due to heavy fog. The tragedy occurred three kilometers from Aktau Airport on December 25 at 11:30 local time.
