The Akim of Aktau, Abilkair Baipakov, conducted a raid on the city's buses and engaged with drivers and passengers. Opinions and suggestions were gathered. One of the proposals from the mayor caught attention.
He shared: "One elderly woman told me that it would be great if senior citizens in Aktau could use public transport for free. I liked this idea. We are currently exploring the possibility of its implementation and will present it for discussion at the city maslikhat."
According to the akim, if approved, transportation will become free for pensioners and citizens raising children with disabilities.
Currently, the fare for buses in Aktau is 100 tenge for adults and 50 tenge for children when paying in cash, and 70 and 35 tenge for cashless payments.
