According to the order of the Minister of Internal Affairs dated November 18, the list of mandatory documents for issuing permits for temporary and permanent residence in the country to foreigners and stateless persons has been updated.
The order will take effect ten calendar days after its first official publication.
Now, when applying for a temporary residence permit through the State Corporation, the following documents will be required:
application form,
copy of an identity document (original must be presented),
copy of medical insurance (original must be presented, not required for citizens of EAEU countries),
notarized consent from the property owner for residence, if the applicant is not the owner,
certificate of fingerprinting.
Additionally, the following documents may be requested:
- For family reunification — a document confirming family relations with a person permanently residing in Kazakhstan.
- For education — a request from a Kazakh educational institution.
- For inpatient treatment — documents from a medical organization in the republic confirming treatment or care for the patient.
- For missionary activities — a certificate issued by the authorized body in the field of religious activities.
- For entrepreneurial activities (business immigrants) — a medical certificate (form 028/u), medical insurance covering emergency medical assistance, and a document confirming the absence of a criminal record and prohibition on entrepreneurial activity, issued by the competent authority of the country of citizenship or residence.
- For victims of human trafficking — a request from the local executive body in accordance with approved rules.
- For foreign specialists of the International Financial Center "Astana" (IFCA) — a permit for the duration of the employment contract, but not exceeding one year with the possibility of extension. For investment residents of IFCA — upon request from the IFCA administration, the permit duration does not exceed five years.
- For labor activities:
- Permission to attract foreign labor, issued by the local executive body.
- Certificate or permission confirming the foreigner’s qualifications, issued by the local executive body.
- Permit for a labor immigrant to engage in labor activities with individuals, issued by the local executive body.
- Employment contract, registered in the unified system for accounting labor contracts "ESUTD" or a civil law contract for the performance of work (provision of services).
- Order for sending on a business trip due to an intra-corporate transfer or under a contract between legal entities for the provision of services.
- Document confirming journalist accreditation, specifying the duration of accreditation.
- For categories of immigrants exempted from obtaining the above permits, and their family members — the permit is issued for the duration of the employment contract, but not exceeding one year, with the possibility of extension.
