The Blood Center's message states: "We urge all compassionate residents of our region to come to the blood center now and donate blood. If you are healthy, have not consumed fatty foods today, and, most importantly, want to help those in need, we are waiting for you today, December 25, until 4 PM."
Today, an aircraft operating the Baku – Grozny flight made an emergency landing three kilometers from Aktau. The injured from the plane crash have been transported to hospitals in the Mangistau region. According to the Ministry of Health, their conditions vary in severity. Out of 67 people on board, including crew members, 28 survived, including two children.
According to the Ministry of Transport, there were 37 citizens of Azerbaijan, 6 from Kazakhstan, 3 from Kyrgyzstan, and 16 citizens of the Russian Federation on board.
The President of Kazakhstan has instructed the establishment of a State Commission in connection with the air disaster. The Government of Kazakhstan has formed a Government Commission to investigate the causes of the air crash. The Transport Police Department of the Republic of Kazakhstan has initiated a pre-trial investigation into the causes of the plane crash.
Representatives of the Azerbaijani government have flown to Kazakhstan.
Condolences to the relatives and friends of those who perished in the air disaster have been expressed by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, who interrupted his visit to the Russian Federation, the First Vice President of Azerbaijan, Mehriban Aliyeva, and the head of the Chechen Republic, Ramzan Kadyrov.
