The company's statement has been published on its official website, highlighting that Embraer is committed to supporting the investigation and is monitoring the situation closely.
“Our thoughts and heartfelt condolences go out to the families, friends, colleagues, and loved ones affected by this incident. We are closely following the developments and are fully committed to supporting the relevant authorities,” the statement reads.
According to data from the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan, specialists from Embraer and CENIPA (the Brazilian Center for the Investigation of Aviation Accidents) have arrived at the crash site, along with a delegation from the aviation authorities of Azerbaijan and representatives from the airline AZAL. The field investigation is being conducted by the Kazakhstan Incident Investigation Department in collaboration with colleagues from Azerbaijan.
It is worth noting that the plane, which was on a flight from Baku to Grozny, was redirected to Makhachkala due to fog, and then to Aktau, where it crashed three kilometers from the airport. Possible causes of the tragedy include a collision with a flock of birds and an explosion of an oxygen cylinder.
