The press service of the Almaty city court has reported that the case regarding the traffic accident has been transferred to the Almalinsky District Court for criminal cases on October 30. The start date of the proceedings is currently unknown.
As a reminder, the traffic accident occurred in June 2024. The driver of a KIA vehicle, while crossing Makataev Street in a southern direction, collided with a bus from route No. 18, which subsequently hit an obstacle. The bus route No. 18 is operated by the private carrier City-Bus LLP.
As a result of the accident, 25 individuals were injured; one passenger died at the scene, two received on-site medical assistance and were sent for outpatient treatment, while 22 victims were taken to city hospitals. Among them were three teenagers with bruises and fractures.
The driver of the bus involved in the accident stated that a crossover cut him off at the intersection, causing him to brake suddenly, lose control, and crash into a booth on the sidewalk.
A criminal case has been initiated regarding the traffic accident that resulted in a fatality.
