The incident occurred on June 17, 2021: Alimov was brutally beaten near a store and then taken unconscious to the area of the Kendala settlement, where he was subjected to further beating. In critical condition, he was hospitalized at the Talgar Central District Hospital, from where his relatives transferred him to a clinic in Almaty, fearing pressure on the victim.
On November 4, 2024, the police of Almaty region reported the arrest of five suspects, who have already been convicted and are serving their sentences. Hasan Kasymbaev, suspected of complicity in inflicting serious bodily harm and kidnapping, has also been arrested and placed in a temporary detention facility.
