“It is essential to understand where your question originates. Its roots trace back to America. Was I able to clarify that or not? Dear ones, follow the path that your parents and grandparents took, and then such questions will not arise,” stated Ozodbek Nazarbekov.
He emphasized that opening the cultural sphere without restrictions will not be beneficial and may lead to destructive consequences.
“Culture is a bird that must be kept under control. Opening this sphere may cause more harm than good. Look at the world; you are educated people,” the minister added.
At the same time, he noted that he is against prohibitions, but freedom in creativity requires a corresponding level of intellect.
“When people are given freedom, creative individuals often can destroy and spoil. This does not mean that freedom should not be granted. I am categorically against bans. But the intellect of free people must match that freedom.
They should not commit crimes even within four walls. When we reach such a level, we will, if necessary, compel freedom ourselves. Even if someone says, ‘No, I do not want to be free,’ we will respond:
‘You must live freely.’ However, today we cannot say that society is ready for this. Let us reflect on this issue from the perspective of our conscience,” concluded Ozodbek Nazarbekov.
