Прокуратура Андижана расследует дело о попытке сексуального насилия над 13-летней девочкой.

The Prosecutor's Office of the Andijan region has begun examining the court rulings regarding a 37-year-old resident of the Asaka district, who allegedly offered a 13-year-old girl sex for money through his wife as an intermediary. This was reported by the General Prosecutor's Office of Uzbekistan.

The first-instance court classified the case under part 1 of article 41−1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (sexual harassment) and sentenced the man to 5 days of detention, while his wife received a fine of 750,000 sums.

In the anti-violence project Nemolchi.uz, it was stated that attempts to engage in sexual relations with minors, including for money, are governed solely by the Criminal Code.

“Any sexual activity with children under 14 years old is classified as a particularly serious crime, which is addressed under part 4 of article 118 of the Criminal Code for 'Rape.' It does not matter whether the child was coerced or if violence was used,” the project emphasized. “We will monitor the developments of this case and hope that it will be handled with the utmost severity of the law,” the project concluded.
