This morning, around 06:00, on Beibitshilik Island near the Irtysh River, the driver of a passenger car collided with a concrete barrier, causing the vehicle to plunge into the river. At the time of the incident, there were four individuals inside the car. One passenger managed to escape and swim to the shore. He did not require medical assistance.
Following the report, emergency responders from the Ministry of Emergency Situations arrived at the scene. By 09:00, the search team had located and retrieved the body of one deceased individual from the water, which has been handed over to the police for further investigation.
The operation involves 55 rescuers, 5 watercraft, 2 drones, a sonar device for underwater search, and 10 units of equipment. To enhance the effort, military personnel from the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan, from the military unit named after Kasym Kaisenov, are also participating, and rescuers from the East Kazakhstan region are expected to arrive.
Work at the scene continues, with all necessary measures being taken to complete the operation and ensure safety.
