The head of the Fergana region, Khayrullo Bozorov, presented the keys to an apartment to the world champion in Greco-Roman wrestling among youth, Alisher Ganiev, reports UzA.
The athlete received the apartment in the residential complex "Ecosity – New Uzbekistan" in Fergana. During the meeting, the governor congratulated the wrestler on his achievement and wished him success in his future career.
Alisher Ganiev was born in the Buvayda district and is a first-year student at Chirchik State University of Physical Culture. He competes for the Uzbekistan national team in Greco-Roman wrestling and holds the title of international class sports master.
In October 2024, Ganiev became the world champion in the U23 category, winning a gold medal in the 60 kg weight class at the World Wrestling Championship in Tirana (Albania). This victory made him the first world champion among 23-year-olds in Greco-Roman wrestling in the history of Uzbekistan.
