The human rights defender states that the court proceedings have begun and are completely confidential, "despite the seriousness of the accusations and the significance of the case for the public." He also pointed out that "to this day, many aspects of the incident remain unknown."
It is worth noting that the incident occurred on the night of October 26, when unidentified individuals fired at Allamjonov's vehicle on Ifor Street in the Kibray district, after which they fled the scene. Fortunately, no one was injured.
Following the incident, several high-ranking officials were dismissed from their positions. Among them are the Chairman of the State Security Service Abdusalom Azizov, the First Deputy Chief of the Tashkent Police Department Doniyor Tashkhodjaev, the Heads of the Criminal Investigation Department of the Operational-Investigative Department Akhrorjon Atamov, and the Department for Combating Organized Crime of the Capital's Police Department Timur Sobirov.
Additionally, Uzbekistan has announced through Interpol the international search for two Russian citizens — Bislan Rasaev and Shamil Temirkhanov. Russian media reported that they are suspected not only of organizing an assassination attempt on Allamjonov but also of preparing an attack on the head of the National Agency for Prospective Projects (NAPP) Dmitry Li.
The Head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, commenting on these events, expressed doubt about the authenticity of the assassination attempt. He claimed that "behind-the-scenes games of the West" might be involved in the situation and threatened consequences for those behind it.
