The new European Commission will begin the process of removing Russian liquefied natural gas (LNG) from the European market to help lower energy prices.
This statement was made by its President Ursula von der Leyen while presenting the organization's program at a session of the European Parliament, where participants will need to approve the new commissioners.
“We must expel Russian natural gas from the European market and actively invest in green energy to reduce prices for our industry and consumers,” she said, as reported by TAAS.
Previously, the head of the European Commission proposed to Trump to replace gas from Russia with American gas. Europe continues to receive a significant volume of liquefied natural gas from the Russian Federation, as noted by European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen.
