The General Prosecutor's Office of Uzbekistan has initiated a criminal case regarding the death of Russian journalist Inessa Paperna and two other individuals. This was reported by the press service of the agency.
“A forensic medical examination has been appointed to determine the exact cause of death of the deceased,” the statement reads.
It is worth noting that Paperna was in Uzbekistan on vacation. She was staying at the "Karaman Palace" hotel with her companion. On October 20, a package was delivered to her, but no one answered the door of their room. After some time, hotel staff forced open the door and found the bodies of both individuals. Preliminary reports indicate that the cause of death was an unknown gas.
Following the incident, the hotel was sealed off, and law enforcement is conducting an investigation.
