The head of "Umid Avto" has been arrested on suspicion of large-scale fraud.

The head of LLC "Umid avto companes," Abdumannop Abdurakhmanov, has been arrested in connection with a major fraud case. This was reported by the Investigative Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

According to the investigation, a criminal case has been initiated against Abdurakhmanov and other officials of the company under Article 168, Part 4, Item "a" (fraud), as well as under Article 188-1 (illegal attraction of monetary funds or property). The case materials were transferred to the Chilanzar District Court on September 3, 2024.

It has been established that Abdurakhmanov managed several leasing companies, including "Umid avto," "Orient avto," "Business Orient Auto," and others. He offered citizens vehicles under favorable conditions; however, clients did not receive either the cars or refunds. Over 200 victims are involved in the case.

On January 6, 2025, Abdurakhmanov commented to Kun.uz, explaining the delays in car deliveries due to the mass closure of leasing companies in 2022–2023. However, he was later arrested as part of procedural actions.

The investigation is ongoing, and measures are being taken to compensate the victims and hold all responsible parties accountable. Court hearings on the case began in November 2024 and are still ongoing.
