The mayor of Karshi has appeared in court.

The Hokim of Karshi, Normomin Holboev, has been held accountable for the unlawful termination of a business point operated by an entrepreneur. This information comes from Daryo, citing its source.

Holboev violated the law "On Guarantees of Freedom of Entrepreneurial Activity" by issuing an illegal order to suspend the store's operations. The Hokim was fined 15 million sums (40 basic calculation units). However, the Karshi court reduced the fine to 1.875 million sums (5 basic calculation units) on November 4, 2024.

On December 27, 2024, the appellate court of the Kashkadarya region, presided over by Judge Makhfirat Ochilova, dismissed Holboev's appeal. The court rejected the Hokim's argument that he could not be held accountable without the consent of the Kengash deputies.

Shiroz Shodie, a representative of the business ombudsman, confirmed that the entrepreneur's store is located outside Karshi, and the Hokim's actions were illegal. This is corroborated by video evidence.
