Civil society institutions in Uzbekistan will receive financial support from the Public Fund for NGO Assistance.

Uzbekistan, Tashkent – According to AN Podrobno.uz, the Fund for Supporting NGOs in Uzbekistan is prepared to offer financial assistance to grant recipients whose projects were previously funded by foreign donors, as reported by a correspondent from Podrobno.uz.
Общественный фонд поддержки ННО окажет финансовую помощь институтам гражданского общества Узбекистана.

Otabek Khusanov, the director of the Public Foundation for the Support of Non-Governmental Non-Profit Organizations and Other Civil Society Institutions under the Oliy Majlis, shared this information in an interview with the Sevimli television channel during a parliamentary commission meeting.

He stated that both the non-governmental non-profit organizations operating in Uzbekistan and the recipients of foreign grants will not face financial difficulties.

"We are fully prepared to support, create all necessary conditions and opportunities for the continuation of projects. We want to emphasize separately: if in 2025 problems arise related to foreign grants, we are ready to develop additional projects to support them," Khusanov noted.

He also urged all non-governmental organizations to actively participate in competitions for receiving state grants and state social orders announced by the foundation.

The statement from the head of the NGO support fund came in response to actions taken by the new administration of U.S. President Donald Trump regarding the elimination of USAID and similar organizations that provided support for projects around the world, including in Uzbekistan.

It should be noted that Trump previously stated that USAID is run by "deranged radicals" and added that the agency would be dismantled.

Later, the rector of the University of Journalism of Uzbekistan, Sherzodkhon Kudratkhuzha, expressed his views on the work of USAID in the republic, stating that he does not see any problems for our country in cooperating with the organization, and that Uzbekistan is ready for independent development, relying on its own resources and international partnerships in accordance with national interests.
