Kazakhstan provided humanitarian aid to Tajikistan by delivering fuel oil and food supplies.

In Dushanbe, a ceremony was held for the official handover of humanitarian aid provided by Kazakhstan, as reported by Bizmedia.kz.

The Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Tajikistan, Valikhan Turekhanov, handed over an official certificate confirming the delivery of 5,000 tons of fuel oil to the head of the Agency for State Material Reserves under the Government of the country, Nurmakhmad Akhmadzoda.

This decision was made by the Kazakh authorities as part of strengthening bilateral cooperation and strategic interaction between the two countries.

The total amount of humanitarian aid equals 871.9 million tenge, which is approximately 1.67 million US dollars.

In addition to fuel, food products were also delivered to Tajikistan.

Kazakhstan sent 67 tons of vegetable oil, 50 tons of condensed milk, and 325.6 tons of buckwheat.

The total value of the food cargo is estimated at 144.5 million tenge, which is roughly equivalent to 276 thousand US dollars.

According to the embassy, over the past 5 years, the volume of humanitarian aid provided by Kazakhstan to Tajikistan is estimated to have reached 20 million US dollars.
