The Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan has responded to the situation, emphasizing that the inspection of the wagons was conducted as part of standard procedures. Vice Minister Yerbol Taszhurekov stated that "there are no obstacles or barriers" for the further movement of the cargo, and the wagons can cross the border.
The delay occurred against the backdrop of Kazakhstan's ban on potato exports, which was implemented at the end of January for a period of six months. An exception has been made only for EEU countries. This restriction aims to stabilize prices within the country. As for the cargo in question, it was dispatched prior to this decree.
