“The Ministry is particularly focused on the accessibility and quality of legal assistance provided. We are working on a mechanism that allows citizens to receive legal consultations free of charge. Currently, to obtain advice under the state-guaranteed legal assistance program, citizens turn to lawyers or legal consultants. To streamline this process, it is proposed to implement a chatbot for citizens to receive consultations ‘from the comfort of their home,’” said Yerlan Sarsembayev.
According to him, the funds saved from legal consultations are suggested to be redirected towards increasing the payment rates for court representation.
“In the realm of legal consultants, we are examining changes to the requirements for entering the profession, citizenship, establishing uniform standards, criteria for the quality of legal assistance provided, as well as a code of professional ethics for lawyers,” he added.
