The Trojan SparkCat is capable of extracting information from images in the Gallery, including passwords and sensitive data, and transmitting it to attackers. This was reported by experts from Kaspersky Lab.
The malware was discovered in 20 counterfeit applications, including messengers, AI assistants, food delivery services, and apps for cryptocurrency exchanges. They were found not only in Google Play, as was previously the case, but also in the App Store.
