It has been reported that the new infrastructure has been tested with a mobile diagnostic complex, and the connection of alarm, centralization, and blocking devices has been successfully completed over a 127-kilometer stretch of track.
The project for the construction of second tracks on the Dostyk – Moyynty railway section, which spans 836 km, is expected to be completed by the summer of 2025. Construction work is nearing completion: a rail-and-sleeper grid has been laid over 769 km, 99% of the earthworks have been completed, the installation of reinforced concrete pipes and bridge construction is finishing up, and systems for signaling, communication, and power supply are being implemented. Over 630 km of various cables have been laid, and 12,998 poles for high-voltage lines have been installed.
According to the press service of the agency, this is one of the major infrastructure projects of KTZh, which will increase the capacity of the Dostyk — Moyynty line, known for its heavy freight traffic, by five times.
