Since the beginning of the epidemic season, specialists have identified 30 cases, which accounts for 1.6% of the total number of non-influenza viruses. More than 8,000 samples were analyzed.
Metapneumovirus is transmitted in several ways: through the air (via respiratory droplets) and through everyday objects.
The main symptoms of the disease include cough, nasal congestion, difficulty breathing, and high fever.
Currently, there is no specific treatment for this virus, so doctors are using therapies aimed at alleviating the symptoms.
The virus is spreading quite actively across many countries and is most commonly detected during the seasonal increase in illnesses similar to influenza and ARVI.
In Kazakhstan, more than 2 million cases of acute respiratory viral infections have already been reported this season.
Additionally, it is worth noting that earlier reports indicated an outbreak of viral diseases in China, including metapneumovirus, rhinovirus, and influenza.
