During a briefing in the Mazhilis, the Minister of Energy was asked about compensation for gasoline costs due to price increases for socially vulnerable populations. Almasadam Satkaliev explained that this issue is being considered within the framework of the "social wallet" for consumers. There are various approaches regarding whether to compensate for gasoline expenses within the "social wallet." There are no questions concerning utility costs, as targeted social assistance recipients are citizens who cannot afford to pay basic utility bills. Whether or not to include gasoline in this discussion will be a subject of debate.
According to him, in this matter, Kazakhstanis are divided into two groups. One group supports the idea, while the other argues that if a person can afford a car, they likely have sufficient means to purchase gasoline as well.
