Kazakhstan's Minister of Energy, Almasadam Satkaliyev, has revealed that the Ulkensky rural district is currently being considered as the primary site for the country's first nuclear power plant, as reported by Bizmedia.kz.
Министр энергетики сообщил о возможных местах для строительства АЭС в Казахстане.

However, the exact location will be determined after the completion of engineering studies that are currently underway.

The Ministry of Energy has reported that companies supplying equipment for the future nuclear power plant will propose alternative options, which will be considered.

Nevertheless, the final decision regarding the exact site will be made only after all necessary data has been collected.

According to him, when selecting the territory, the authorities take into account several key factors.

These include the economic development in the regions, ensuring stable electricity supply, and the need for an even distribution of the load on the country's energy system.

Among the potential sites for the construction of the nuclear power plant, he mentioned the Balkhash area, the territory of Kurchatov, and the MAEK site in the Mangystau region, highlighting their high potential.

The minister added that Kazakhstan plans to build at least three nuclear power plants in the future.
