The Emergency Management Office of Navoi Region has provided information regarding a fire that occurred at the thermal power station.
According to the report, on January 5 at 14:34, the dispatch service of the regional management received a notification about the fire in transformer No. 12 located at the Navoi thermal power station.
Fire and rescue teams arrived at the scene at 14:37, localized the fire by 14:49, and completely extinguished it by 15:14.
A total of eight fire and rescue teams were engaged in extinguishing the fire.
“As a result of the fire, there were no interruptions in the electricity supply to residential buildings, social institutions, or industrial facilities. Currently, the causes of the incident and the extent of the damage are being determined. There are no casualties or injuries,” the report states.
According to the Ministry of Energy, the fire did not negatively impact the energy system. The power unit that was shut down due to the fire was replaced by backup capacities. “Electricity is being supplied steadily to consumers, and the station is currently operating normally,” the statement notes.
