The head of the Emergency Situations Department in Namangan was arrested for accepting a bribe of $160,000.

The head of the emergency situations department of the Pap district in the Namangan region was arrested by law enforcement agencies with evidence while receiving 160 thousand US dollars.

He promised to register 2 hectares of land in the name of the buyer, allocated by a decision of the district hokim in February 2021 for the establishment of a lemon greenhouse, and to obtain permission for the construction of cottages on this site through his acquaintances in the authorities.

A criminal case has been initiated against the head of the emergency situations department under Article 25 (preparation for a crime and attempted crime), clause "a" of part 4 of Article 168 (major fraud) and clause "b" of part 2 of Article 211 (delivery of a bribe in the interests of an organized group) of the Criminal Code of Uzbekistan. An investigation is underway.
