A minor driver has died in a traffic accident.

On January 30, a traffic accident occurred in the Fergana region, resulting in the death of the driver of a Damas from 2007. This was reported by the spokesperson of the Prosecutor General, Khayot Shamsutdinov.

The incident took place in the "Kapchugai" mahalla of the Altyaryk district. A traffic police officer stopped a 19-year-old driver of a BYD Song EV who lacked the necessary documents, after which his vehicle was to be sent to a towing lot. At the same time, a 16-year-old teenager, without a driver's license, got behind the wheel of a Damas belonging to his teacher.

It has been reported that the teacher was aware the boy did not have a license but allowed him to drive the car. When the underage driver moved from a secondary road to the main road, he collided with the BYD. Despite the efforts of the doctors, the teenager succumbed to his injuries in the hospital.

The Prosecutor General's Office also stated that a criminal case has been initiated regarding the traffic accident under Article 266 (Violation of traffic safety rules or operation of vehicles). The investigation is ongoing.
