Official announcement: the location for the construction of a nuclear power plant in Kazakhstan has been revealed.
In Kazakhstan, the location for the construction of the first nuclear power plant has been officially designated. The relevant decree was signed by Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov, as reported by Bizmedia.kz.

According to the document adopted on December 30, 2024, a nuclear power plant will be constructed in the Zhambyl district of the Almaty region. The decision takes effect on February 25.
Previously, among the potential locations for construction, the village of Ulken, situated in this district, was mentioned. It has now been officially confirmed as the site for the future station.
