Sad news for animal lovers: a giraffe has died at the Tashkent Zoo.

Uzbekistan, Tashkent – According to AN Podrobno.uz. Despite the veterinarians' best efforts, a female giraffe at the capital's zoo died yesterday from a twisted stomach. This marks the second incident of giraffe fatalities since 2022, reports a correspondent from Podrobno.uz.

The sad news was reported by the Telegram channel of the Tashkent Zoo.

Zoo specialists shared that they utilized all possible methods and treatment options to save the giraffe. Continuous consultations and conferences were held via video calls with foreign colleagues who are experts in these exotic herbivores.

A post-mortem examination revealed that the cause of death was gastric torsion. According to zoologists, there are no known successful cases of gastrointestinal surgeries on giraffes due to their anatomical and physiological characteristics.

The message states that the loss of the giraffe is a significant tragedy, and the zoo staff is grateful to the people of Uzbekistan for their support and understanding during these challenging times.
