In 2024, the Border Service of the National Security Committee, in collaboration with other law enforcement agencies, was dedicated to safeguarding the State Border of Kazakhstan. As a result, over 55,000 violations of the country's legislation in the border area were prevented. A total of 324 foreigners were held accountable for border violations, while 383 faced charges for attempted infringements.
The border guards also thwarted drug smuggling, recording 451 incidents, along with 886 cases involving weapons and ammunition, 455 instances of prohibited religious literature, 5,283 cases of fuel and lubricants, 6,086 cases of consumer goods, and 1,880 currency violations. The total confiscation led to a revenue of 89.16 billion tenge.
In the Caspian Sea, 390 cases of poaching were intercepted, with the estimated damage prevented amounting to 4.6 billion tenge. This included the seizure of 196 vessels, 536 kilometers of nets, 1,994 sturgeon fish weighing 11,379 kg, 87,814 common fish totaling 98,296 kg, and 117 seals.
All identified offenders have been held accountable for their actions.
