The "Gishtkuprik" post on the Uzbekistan-Kazakhstan border will be closed for four months.

Uzbekistan, Tashkent – According to AN Podrobno.uz, starting from February 5, one of the largest border checkpoints on the Uzbekistan-Kazakhstan border, "Gishtkuprik," will temporarily cease operations.
Пост "Гишткуприк" на границе Узбекистана и Казахстана будет закрыт на четыре месяца.

The Customs Committee of Uzbekistan has clarified that the checkpoint will be closed for four months to complete extensive reconstruction that has been ongoing since 2022. Until now, the checkpoint remained open, and temporary walkways with canopies were arranged for pedestrians. However, from now on, the border can only be crossed through the recently updated "Navoi" (Zangiota) post in the Tashkent region, located less than 20 kilometers away.

The Customs Service specified that the "Navoi" checkpoint will be accessible for pedestrians, passenger vehicles, and buses, but truck traffic through it is temporarily prohibited.

It is worth noting that citizens can also use other crossing points – "Ok oltin" and "Malik" in Syrdarya, as well as "Yallama" in Tashkent region.
