Today, March 1st, at 15:23, the Main Department for Emergency Situations of Tashkent received a report about a fire that occurred in one of the apartments of a multi-story building in the Mirzo-Ulugbek district of Tashkent.
Upon arrival, the fire and rescue teams at 15:29 determined that a fire had broken out on the 9th floor of the nine-story building due to a flash of a gas-air mixture. The fire was localized and extinguished by 16:07.
Six individuals were rescued and handed over to ambulance crews. There have been no reports of fatalities.
According to preliminary data, the cause of the fire was an attempted suicide by a resident of the apartment, who tried to ignite the gas stove. This resulted in an explosion of the gas-air mixture, which caused the fire. Afterward, the individual took their own life by jumping from the 9th floor.
Currently, work is ongoing in the building to restore essential services.
