The minister announced that starting in February, a gradual increase in prices for gasoline and diesel is expected, while the cost of liquefied gas will begin to rise in the near future. The initial fuel price hike will not exceed 5 tenge per liter. However, there is no precise schedule for the price increases—changes may occur weekly or monthly, depending on the market situation.
Satkaliev emphasized that the government will monitor prices and respond if they start to rise too quickly. Final decisions will be made considering inflation and consultations with experts.
Previously, Kazakhstan had limited the prices only for AI-92 gasoline, diesel fuel, and liquefied gas, but this mechanism has now been abolished, meaning that the market will shift to free pricing.
