Продажа бензина АИ-80 может быть ограничена в 2025 году.

The "Development Strategy" Center has released a draft presidential decree regarding the state program for 2025, which proposes to restrict the sale of fuel that does not meet the Euro-4 standard. This restriction will include gasoline AI-80, which corresponds to the Euro-2 standard.

According to the draft, the use of fuel oil for heating and electricity production at all enterprises in the republic is set to be banned. Exceptions may be made for emergency fuel, as agreed with the Cabinet of Ministers.

Bloggershavkat Kurbonov stated that the refusal of AI-80 is a "logical step" and that this decision has "been overdue for a long time." However, he pointed out that there is currently no alternative to this gasoline, as it is the most affordable fuel in Uzbekistan.

"AI-80 is the most affordable gasoline. That is why problems at the AGNKS lead to increased queues for this fuel. But it is not cheap; it is simply accessible. At least because it costs more for us than premium AI-95 in Russia, Kazakhstan, and Turkmenistan," — wrote he on his Telegram channel.

In early 2024, the head of state instructed Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov to address the issue of phasing out AI-80 starting in 2025. Additionally, the President of Uzbekistan has decreed that from 2028, the use and sale of fuel below the "Euro-4" standard, including gasoline AI-80, will be gradually restricted.
