The press service of Kazakh Tourism announces the conclusion of the national competition "Best Tourist Village - 2025" and the results have been finalized. Five of the best tourist villages in Kazakhstan have been identified to represent the country at the prestigious international competition UN Tourism Best Tourism Village, held annually under the auspices of the United Nations World Tourism Organization.
The purpose of the competition is to identify and promote rural areas with unique natural landscapes, culture, traditions, and crafts, as well as to develop the tourism sector.
Regional akimats were allowed to nominate up to three participants for the competition. Special attention was given to natural and cultural resources, the preservation of traditional activities in localities that could become attractions for travelers interested in new routes.
As a result, the five best villages in Kazakhstan were named:
Lepsi (Zhetysu Region, Alakol District),
Nagi Iliyasov (Kyzylorda Region, Sarydarya District),
Khan Ordasy (West Kazakhstan Region, Bokeyordinsky District),
Poperechnoe (East Kazakhstan Region, Ridder District),
Shabanbai Bi (Karaganda Region, Aktogay District).
It is worth noting that in 2023, the village of Saty in the Almaty Region was recognized as the best tourist village internationally and received the prestigious award Best Tourism Villages by UNWTO.
