All parties involved in the process reviewed the case materials, after which it was handed over to the prosecutor for subsequent submission to the court.
During the investigative activities, 40 forensic examinations were conducted, and approximately 200 witnesses were interrogated. The suspects underwent verification of their testimonies at the crime scene, face-to-face confrontations between case participants were organized, and other procedural actions were taken to establish all circumstances surrounding the committed crime.
The investigators meticulously examined eight video recordings and provided a legal assessment of the actions of each participant in the incident.
“The volume of the criminal case amounted to 62 volumes, including collected evidence, expert conclusions, interrogation protocols, and other materials relevant for a complete and objective understanding of the events that transpired. All investigative actions were carried out in strict accordance with criminal legislation, ensuring legality, transparency, and objectivity at all stages of the investigation. Oversight of the process and the observance of the constitutional rights of the participants in the case were conducted by the prosecutorial authorities,” the police department clarified.
Chronology of Events
- October 4, 2024 – 16-year-old Sherzat Bolat died from a stab wound sustained during a fight. Eleven individuals were detained on suspicion of the crime.
- A week later, the house of Sherzat Bolat's family in the village of Azat was burned down. The General Prosecutor’s Office confirmed that the cause of the fire was arson.
- On December 9, 2024 – the body of Sherzat's uncle, Nurganat Gaipbaev, was found on the outskirts of Talgar. Before his death, he managed to send messages to his relatives.
- After Sherzat's funeral, his father, Karzhaubai Nurymov, was arrested for 15 days for violating public order.
