Beeline explains the rise in communication tariffs in Kazakhstan.

Evgeny Nastradin, the CEO of Beeline Kazakhstan, commented on the increase in mobile communication tariffs and the enhancement of coverage quality during the Digital Almaty 2025 forum. He emphasized that the rise in prices is unavoidable due to several contributing factors. This information was reported by a correspondent from Bizmedia.kz at the event.

In recent years, the consumption of mobile internet has significantly increased. In Kazakhstan, the average consumption has reached 30 GB per month per subscriber, compared to just 9 GB five years ago. For comparison, the global average is 12 GB. At the same time, the costs of maintaining the network are also rising. The more base stations there are and the higher the speed, the greater the expenses.

According to him, one cellular site consumes as much electricity as 20 apartments, and the entire Beeline network is comparable in consumption to the largest cities in the country.

An additional factor will be the increase in electricity tariffs starting February 1, 2025. This directly impacts the cost of communication services, as each new site and each new technology require more resources.

Nastradin emphasized that operators are striving to minimize the impact of rising tariffs on subscribers. To achieve this, family tariff packages are offered, allowing for cheaper communication payments, as well as special offers for pensioners, students, and people with disabilities.
