Boxer Shahram Giyosov has apologized for his training session with a bear, which sparked a significant reaction on social media. An administrative protocol was drawn up against the athlete, and he was fined three basic calculation amounts, reports the Ministry of Ecology of Uzbekistan.
The situation was investigated by the environmental control inspection and law enforcement officials. Participants and organizers of the incident provided explanatory letters, and the bear was transferred to the Fergana Zoo.
Shahram Giyosov was summoned to the Ministry of Ecology, where he was informed about the ban on keeping wild animals by individuals and their use for any purposes, according to a resolution from the Cabinet of Ministers. He also received a discussion on the unacceptability of animal cruelty. The athlete acknowledged his mistake and promised that such an incident would not happen again.
The Ministry of Ecology reminds that animal cruelty is strictly prohibited and carries legal consequences.
