Kazakhstan's Interior Ministry announced a proposal to reduce penalties for drunk driving.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kazakhstan has stated that it is firmly opposed to easing penalties for drunk driving. This information was reported by Bizmedia.kz.
В МВД Казахстана озвучили заявление о смягчении наказания за вождение в состоянии алкогольного опьянения.

The head of the administrative police committee, Kaysar Sultanbaev, commented on the initiative proposed by a deputy to reduce the penalties for such violations.

According to him, the number of drunk drivers on the roads is not decreasing, and since the beginning of the year, the Ministry of Internal Affairs has received 7,500 requests for leniency or amnesty.

However, the position of the department remains unchanged—there will be no concessions for violators. Sultanbaev also noted that a survey conducted on social media revealed that the majority of people were against reducing the punishment.
