Following the BRICS summit in Kazan, 13 countries have been granted the status of partner nations within the alliance. This is reported by the publication "Kommersant."
The new BRICS partners include Turkey, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Algeria, Belarus, Bolivia, Cuba, Indonesia, Malaysia, Nigeria, Thailand, Uganda, and Vietnam.
The status of a partner country is a necessary step towards full membership in BRICS, stated journalist Vladimir Solovyov.
