During a Government meeting, the Minister reported that by the end of 2025, the regulatory condition of republican roads is expected to reach 94%, while local roads will achieve 91%. In financial terms, of the planned 13,000 km of road repairs, funding for 9,500 km has already been secured, while the situation for the remaining roads is being addressed.
The Minister emphasized that preference is given to domestic companies when selecting contractors, which supports the development of the construction sector in Kazakhstan.
Construction work that began in previous years continues, covering a total length of 1,080 km: Kalbatau – Maikapchagay, Kurty – Konayev, Kyzylorda – Zhezkazgan, and Uzynagash – Otar. Additionally, the construction of new highways with a total length of 1,050 km of the first technical category is planned.
There are plans to reconstruct 3,000 km of roads in accordance with the President's directive, upgrading them to the first and second categories. This will provide a new impetus for the development of the construction industry and the country's economy.
Extensive work is scheduled for this year in North Kazakhstan, Akmolinsk, and Abai regions with the aim of connecting interregional and district roads to enhance the welfare of the population. Ongoing repairs will cover 6,600 km.
It is also planned to repair roads that have not been maintained for 30 to 50 years. These roads include: Petropavlovsk – Zhezkazgan (703 km), Kandyagash – Shalkar (246 km), Zhanaozen – Turkmenistan border (156 km), and Karaganda – Ayagoz – Bugaz (452 km).
