Суд вынес решение по делу обвиняемой в аварии с автобусом в Алматы.

The criminal judge of the Almalin district in Almaty, Kairat Imankulov, found the defendant guilty under part 3 of article 345 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan and sentenced her to 2.5 years of imprisonment, to be served in a minimum-security correctional facility.

However, the judge ruled to postpone the execution of the sentence for three years, until her child reaches the age of three years and nine months. If the convicted individual evades parental responsibilities or violates the established order, she may be sent to a penal colony before the end of the deferral period.

The time spent under house arrest will be counted towards the sentence, calculated at two days of house arrest equal to one day of imprisonment. Additionally, the defendant was stripped of the right to operate vehicles for five years.

The verdict can be appealed in a higher court.

During the trial, the young woman delivered a speech expressing remorse and asking for forgiveness. She mentioned that she is raising a 9-month-old daughter who is still breastfeeding.

The prosecutor requested a 2.5-year prison sentence for the accused, while the defense argued for a lighter punishment. The brother of the deceased in the accident stated that he had no claims against the defendant and accepted her apologies.

It is worth noting that the traffic accident occurred on June 26 in Almaty. A city bus crashed into the wall of a store, injuring 16 people and resulting in one passenger's death. According to police reports, the driver of a Kia vehicle, heading south on Makataev Street, collided with a bus of route No. 18. After the collision, the bus crashed into an obstacle.
