Buses are an integral part of public transport for the residents of Tashkent, with thousands of passengers using them daily to reach their destinations. A survey conducted by our editorial team provided a more comprehensive understanding of the Tashkent bus system, the services offered, pricing, and the amenities available.
According to information published by Asia-Plus on April 25 of this year, the fare for Tashkent buses is the lowest among the capitals of Central Asia. Specifically:
Tashkent: $0.11;
Ashgabat: $0.12;
Dushanbe: $0.17;
Nur-Sultan: $0.20;
Bishkek: $0.35.
During the survey conducted in the central districts of the capital, most participants stated that they regularly use the buses. Some respondents mentioned that they use them very rarely or not at all, preferring the metro or personal vehicles.
Additionally, respondents rated the sanitary conditions of the buses, the level of safety, service quality, and staff performance on a scale of 1 to 10, averaging between 7 and 8. “Overall, the buses are good, clean, and safe, but some young conductors can be a bit rude to passengers; perhaps they should be more polite,” shared some respondents.
We also spoke with people with disabilities. Most reported that they do not use the buses often but were satisfied with the services. This indicates the transportation system's commitment to inclusivity.
The highlight of our survey was the question regarding fare prices. Currently, the fare for Tashkent buses is 2000 sums for cash payments and 1700 sums for electronic payments. According to the survey results, most passengers consider this price to be "average" and convenient.
Suggestions from Passengers
Survey participants shared their suggestions for further improving bus services and enhancing comfort. Specifically, they proposed introducing new routes, organizing night bus services, and encouraging some staff members to interact with passengers more politely.
Conclusion
An analysis of the feedback received indicated that the Tashkent public transport system successfully serves passengers by providing quality, affordable, and regular services. As a result, passengers can comfortably reach their destinations.
