On February 26, the Tashkent Zoo announced its temporary closure due to the aftermath of a heavy snowfall.
The inclement weather resulted in widespread tree falls across various parts of the city. Under the weight of the snow and strong winds, branches and trunks collapsed onto roads and vehicles, posing a danger to pedestrians and traffic.
There have also been reports of branches falling within the zoo, which could jeopardize the safety of visitors. As a result, the administration has decided to temporarily suspend operations.
Typically, the zoo's ticket offices operate from 08:00 to 17:00, and the park itself is open until 18:30. Further information regarding the resumption of operations will be provided later.
