Violations have been identified at the liquidated Tengri Bank.

Tengri Bank, which is currently undergoing liquidation, has been found to have violations, according to Bizmedia.kz.

As noted by the Agency for Regulation and Development of the Financial Market (ARDFM), the Department of Banking Regulation has identified a violation of subparagraph 5) of paragraph 189 of Rule No. 114 at Tengri Bank, which has been in liquidation since 2021. The basis for this regulation is the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On State Regulation, Control, and Supervision of the Financial Market and Financial Organizations." However, the specific article of the violation has not been disclosed by the regulator.

The license of Tengri Bank was revoked in September 2021 due to non-compliance with supervisory response measures, violations of prudential standards, and failure to meet additional capitalization requirements.

Since its liquidation, the bank has been settling accounts with creditors. As of December 19, 2024, the payments are distributed as follows:

  • First priority (wages) — 7.4 million tenge,
  • Second priority (KFGD) — 17.7 billion tenge,
  • Third priority (secured liabilities) — 5 billion tenge,
  • Fourth priority (deposits of individuals and insurance organizations) — 2.6 billion tenge,
  • Fifth priority (settlements with non-profit organizations) — 1 billion tenge,
  • Sixth priority (deposits of legal entities) — 13.1 billion tenge (68% of liabilities in this category).
