The recycling fee for electric vehicles will quadruple.

The government of Uzbekistan has adopted a resolution aimed at expanding the use of "green" technologies, ensuring environmentally safe disposal of used electric vehicle batteries, and accelerating localization in this sector.

☑️ For electric vehicles with a service life of no more than 3 years, the recycling fee is set at 120 BRV (45 million sums).

☑️ For electric vehicles older than 3 years, the fee will be 210 BRV (78 million sums).

The Ministry of Economy and Finance, in collaboration with the Ministry of Investments, Industry, and Trade, will develop a procedure for the collection and effective use of recycling fees within two months.

Changes have been made to the list of vehicles subject to the recycling fee. The category "Electric motor vehicles and hybrid vehicles" has now been removed from the list of exemptions, and the fee amounts for them have been set at 120 and 210 basic units.

The resolution will come into effect on May 1, 2025.
